ESSENTIAL OILS RESOURCES:
Where to get your oils:
The way the oils are made is important, as essential oils obtained through chemical processes are not considered true essential oils.
Today many brands come with lower prices, which is usually indicative that those essential oils lack quality. In the process of creating the oils, they could be using potential synthetic compounds, which can be potentially harmful to you as well.
It is important that the oils we use are organic, sustainable and ethically made. I personally use Doterra essential oils, which you can order with a 25% discount through my membership and get a 25% discount here.
Here are some other companies that you can feel safe ordering from, we well:
Carrier oils:
What is a carrier oil? Carrier oils are vegetable oils with little-to-no scent that are used to dilute essential oils. They are not volatile like essential oils, and are shelf-stable. In carrying essential oils into your skin, carrier oils dilute the potency of the oil, but this means that they better absorb into your skin because the essential oil does not evaporate as quickly. Dilution is also necessary for certain “hot” essential oils, and always a good idea when using any oils with children or for those with sensitive skin. When in doubt, always dilute.
You can purchase carrier oils at any of the sites above, but they are also easily found at health food stores and some grocery stores and drug stores.
My go to carrier oils are fractionated coconut oil, sweet almond oil and grape seed oil. There are other oils you can use, but some have heavier odors. You can research and explore!
